A 34-year-old man whose body was found Dec. 30 in the trunk of a car on Biscayne Boulevard died of a drug overdose, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said Friday.
A few days after saying Terry Michael Mercer Jr.'s death was not a homicide, the Sheriff's Office said the way his body was disposed of is being investigated.
The Waycross, Ga., resident was found about 1:45 p.m. when a police officer noticed an abandoned Nissan on the side of the road, the Sheriff’s Office said. Investigators found Mercer wrapped in sheets in the trunk.
