ADMARES Chooses Waycross, Georgia for $750 Million Modular Housing Factory

Waycross, Georgia - ADMARES, a Finnish company specializing in the mass production of buildings and homes using advanced technology, has announced plans to construct its first manufacturing facility in the United States. The company will invest $750 million in the facility, creating over 1,400 new jobs in Ware County. This move is part of ADMARES' ongoing headquarters relocation from Turku, Finland to the United States.

Governor Brian Kemp expressed his excitement about the project, highlighting Georgia's attractiveness to job creators. He stated, "Projects like this prove that in every part of the state, Georgia has what job creators look for. We're proud to welcome ADMARES to the No. 1 state for business and thankful for their decision to locate in a rural part of Georgia, as so many other companies have done in recent years. This project will not only bring more opportunities to hardworking Georgians, but it will also help innovate the home building industry at a time when we need more rural workforce housing."

ADMARES selected Waycross for its strategic advantages, including excellent rail and highway connections, as well as proximity to the busy Port of Brunswick. The city's transportation hub status and robust infrastructure make it an ideal location for the company's expansion into the region.

The planned manufacturing facility will span 2.5 million square feet and focus on producing buildings for the housing sector. Production is scheduled to begin in late 2025. By leveraging heavily automated factories, ADMARES aims to mass-produce homes with significant benefits over traditional construction methods. The company claims its homes will generate 80% less material waste and 75% fewer carbon dioxide emissions. Additionally, the homes will only require a foundation and utility connections at the installation site.

ADMARES' investment in Georgia aligns with the state's efforts to address the growing challenge of workforce housing. State Economic Development Commissioner Pat Wilson emphasized the significance of the project, stating, "Workforce housing is a growing national challenge, and Georgia is no exception. The new ADMARES facility is helping address that challenge, filling a niche that is critical to economic development."

To incentivize ADMARES' investment, the company could qualify for $28 million in state income tax credits, with $4,000 per job over five years, as long as employees earn at least $31,300 per year. Additionally, the state will provide training for the workforce, and ADMARES may be eligible for other incentives, including property tax breaks from Waycross or Ware County.

Local officials in Waycross are excited about the arrival of ADMARES and the positive impact it will have on the community. Waycross Mayor Michael-Angelo James expressed his gratitude, saying, "We look forward to seeing the positive impact that ADMARES will have on our beloved city, and we thank them for choosing to be a part of our community."

ADMARES' investment in Georgia signifies a significant step forward in the adoption of advanced technology and sustainable practices within the construction industry. With their innovative modular housing factory, ADMARES aims to revolutionize home construction while providing economic growth and job opportunities in the region.
